Re: Do you use OLD bases?
On those increasingly rare occasions when I actually have the time to doll any more (I think the last time was probably more than a year ago now, maybe even two ) I use nothing but old bases. I've no idea where to find new ones any more. I can't find anything on DeviantArt. I'm not good at se...

Re: Chitter Chatter: books
Brandon Sanderson, Robin Hobb, and Patricia Briggs are all authors that I've heard good things about and have been intending to read some books by, but I've not got around to it yet. Any specific book recommendations from people here? Good places to start? I've been working my way through the Cadfae...

Re: Art Programs
I use Photoshop CS4 these days for just about everything, including dolling (for that I just use the pencil tool at one pixel). Before I got CS4 I used Photoshop 4.0, but that eventually stopped working, so I had to move up. The really weird part was when I finally made the switch to Windows XP and ...

I have an account, mostly for my comic, but I'm planning on tying my writing into it more later (because I'm writing in the same setting as the comic). This is the link . I keep changing up the introduction because I don't feel like I've really hit on the best thing yet. So far I'm covering the supp...

Re: It's almost that time of the year
I debated about doing it this year, but I think that my for once not being involved with any theatre this fall should balance out working on my comic, and I should still be able to do it. So, I'm in! Plotted and ready to go with the sequel to what I wrote last year, which I'm beginning the process o...

Re: fashionably late
First off, I really like how you've handled the cloth on all three, but especially the first one. It looks very flowing, and that's (at least to me!) hard to pull off. The hair is also quite nice. I don't feel that any of the three faces have a problem per say, but they are all somewhat different st...

Re: The Good News Thread YAY
Exciting stuff going on for people, it seems -- congratulations as appropriate! :D I remember a while back (maybe half a year or a year ago?) I posted some fairly down stuff in the Rants thread, so I figured I'd check in here and mention that things are going way better in general now, even though I...

Re: What's in your cuppa?
I like both coffee and tea just about equally, actually. I only drink coffee in the mornings (typically only on weekends, but if I'm vacation or such also during the week), whereas I'll drink tea in the afternoon or evening. In both cases I like them strong and without any sort of sugar, cream, or w...

Re: "Dollz" fashion
It sounds to me like the author dislikes it, because it all appears to me to be written in a rather negative tone. I haven't noticed anything of the sort, but then, I never paid particularly much attention the more fashionable end of dolling anyhow, nor do I generally notice what people are wearing ...

Re: Chitter chatter, no riff raff
I want to finish Mass Effect 3, if for no other reason than that I ended up liking my character and I already played through the first two games (plus the game play is at least more to my liking than ME 2 for the most part), but it keeps freezing up at the menu screen. I've been trying various thing...

Re: How did you start dolling?
I was dolling before I even knew dolling existed. Waay back in the 80s when I was a kid I'd attempt to make 'paper doll' like images in MSPaint, and experimented with that for a long time. This reminded me that in an odd way I've been doing it since I was a little kid. My brother and I used to use ...

Re: Dumb questions about OC's!
Interesting question! :) I'm also curious if there are people who just come up with characters and don't roleplay with them or write about them. The vast majority of mine have always been, and still are, my RPG characters. As to where I do my roleplaying, well, mostly in my house or my friend's hous...

Re: It's almost that time of the year
I'm doing it again. Name's Remmirath over there if anybody'd like to add me or what. I'm working on a complete re-write of the same thing I was doing last year, which is the first book in a planned trilogy that I've been kicking around in my head for many years. This is the second full draft, but th...

Re: How did you start dolling?
I was on some forum or other where about half the people had dolls for their avatars back in 2003. It was for The Sims , I remember, specifically about skinning for The Sims -- but that's as much as I actually remember about that forum. I thought that it was neat, so I clicked on the base links in t...

I don't think I've ever tried ranting about things before, so I'm giving this a try now to see if it helps... I've been feeling terribly overwhelmed lately between my duties as president of the board for the theatre company I grew up in (and my work basically trying to save it, not to go into too mu...

Re: Characters You Love, and Why You Love Them
I have lots of characters I love, although not as many as books I love, since I don't tend to get attached to characters so much as to stories or settings (and yeah, these are probably all going to be from books, because somehow I just never seem to get as involved in anything else as I do in books)...
