Re: warning nude

The first one looks pretty nice, the shading and the skintone is good :) On the second's face I think the black line for her eyes is too strong; either use a softer color or try to smooth the edges here. And the shoulder area of her body seems too long; it looks a bit like her breast is hanging down...

Re: So Is Dolling Dying?

Another reply from me, since I needed to explain dolling to a friend yesterday. And I had difficulties to do so, cause there's no real description for that (as mentioned above). I remembered the good old times ,which means the "dollmaker-time", and came to the point that dolling is to dress up an ex...

Re: So Is Dolling Dying?

I havn't read all posts yet, I'll do it later though... Please don't get me wrong, I don't want to call ALL new/young dollers the same. It's just something I noticed about people around me/meeting at the shop (at work): I think a reason for less new dollers is the lack of ambition. Nowadays many peo...

Re: Accidental Pageant

The first 3 dolls are very cute, and the details are nice. I can really feel the "spring" in them :) The second looks very intersting, the use of colors in the wings looks pretty. Though I think the bottom part of the wings looks a bit too big in comparison to the top part. This way the doll looks a...

Re: Skeletal Mistress

Very original idea and good work with the limited palette! I wouldn't dither the bottom part, I think it lives because of the contrast. I only think the hair part is a bit flat (the part on the forehead). Maybe adding a few stronger highlights, and some dark strands could add more depth to it. Other...

Amazing work! The dress looks so pretty, especially the folds and the top part is great. And the hair is fantastic - the shading as well as the details :)

Re: Creative Wrapping Ideas

In my job I have to wrap gifts nearly every day. But not in a special way, just quick and nice XD. When I was younger, I always wrapped gifts in a nice paper, and put sticky tape ALL OVER it. So there wasn't any part where you could easily rupture the paper, but always need to somehow cut the sticky...

Re: PPP Mock Entry: Round 2

Just came in and 'whoa!'. The shading is very strong, but looks amazing this way! And the color choice is excellent. The doll has a wonderful overall-look, even a bit nostalgic. Very well done :)!

Re: gita

Very cute :) A typcial "Mouldy"-base ;) I really like your shading in general. On this base I like the shading around the belly, it creates natural details. For CC I think the right hand looks a tad too stiff. Especially the hand is not 100% clear. For the hands I'd suggest either to use a simple ha...

Re: (big) doll bump

Nice work! The details in the Ritzia doll look very pretty. And I like the flowing hair in it. Though I think you could use a bit more contrast in your shading. Especially the black areas are hard to see. The contrast on the 4th doll is nice, maybe a shiny conture would add something special to it (...

What's the best for the first doll in 2014? A color challenge!
I wanted to enter a contest from Mouldy again since ages, and palettes are always fun to do.

[/quote] I wish we had something like dA for us, just for dolling =( I was working on this. WAS :| . When our server has been hacked we needed to delete everything. Luckily I had a backup of my site (which was down for a little while, too) but didn't have any backup from 'IheartDolls'. It was a comm...

Re: Latest photos from me

Thank you all :)! I'm glad you mentioned the fantasy feel, because that was my intention for the photos. @LucyKitsch: You're right, it's more than just water. I started with water, but didn't get those 'bubbles'. So I filled in a bit of lime soda and got my bubbles plus a nice greenish color. @batgi...

The details are great! I really like your shading, it's very crisp but fits perfectly with the details. Usually I post CC...but I can't find anything which seems wrong to me ;)

Bad photos from a pro

Recently a pro photographer (and not a cheap but very 'popular' one in our area) took the wedding photos of my brother and his wife. Because she had a bad sunburn she asked me, if I can retouch all photos because the photographer just left it on the photos. I know many photographers argue about reto...

Re: Hobbies!

Besides dolling I have quite a lot of hobbies. That's why it depends on my mood, which hobby I want to do. And currently my inspiration goes into photography. I'm a concert photographer - I take pictures at concerts. I don't get any money for it, it's just for fun. But I enjoy the music, and the emo...

Amazing dolls :)! I especially like that you used some gradients in them. The brown one on the dress looks great - and the folds are fantastic.
And the one with the rainbow hiar looks so cute :D

Re: Just Like Sisters

I agree with the others about the black dress :) Very nice work here! And I like the little red ribbon/belt in it a lot. I think what bothers you with the purple shirt is, that it looks a bit flat. If you look at the shading, you put all highlights besides the darkest shades, and all highlights/shad...

Re: Conceptual vs Technical

Where do you stand in your work? What do you want out of it? I agree with Naomi about this. I like 'dressing' and creating an outfit and style, and focus on technique more. I prefer to draw dresses and cute things more, because I like to look at it. And I like classic front-posing people (dolls and...

Sea Love

My latest work. Made for Nimiaka's base edit contest which is already over since months XD. I'm quite happy with her, except the hair. The background is supposed to look more simple, and I had no idea how I can shade the small island in the background... http://mariiii.de/test/sea_love_doll_2012.gif...
