Hotel Glam Remodel

Post by Marleaux » Fri Apr 15, 2011 9:40 pm

Alas, I've beaten my head on the wall but it isn't working!
The Link: -Hidden-
The Problem: Horizontal spacing between images in table so there are gaps
I didn't wanna share it because the balcony thing was supposed to be a surprise but I seriously need help =/
Yes I'm using 2 stylesheets, there was just no way around it for me. I like it that way anyways. I'm using stylesheet.css for that page. Anyways please help! :D

I'm not sure what your problem is. . . do you mean you *want* to have gaps? If so, you have two choices: you can put each image into its own cell and add cellspacing of whatever you want your gaps. . . or (better) you can put margins between the images, like so:

Code: Select all

table img {
margin: 0 5px 0 5px; /*this is for a 10px gap. change accordingly */
}
Technically, you don't really need this to be in a table if you're doing it the second way, since there's only one column, you can just use a div for each row, and again put margins on the top and bottom of the images to set the space between the rows.

try removing the <tr> <td> and </tr> </td> on each row of images? and add a <br> at each end of the row so that it goes into the next row

Even better, just put each row in a div, like I said before. You don't really need a table for this particular page, since each row has only one column. It's better to remove the table entirely and just use divs.

(BTW, you've got properties for "cellspacing" and "cellpadding" in your stylesheet for your table and td's. I'm not sure if this has to do with your problem, but those properties don't actually exist in CSS. )

I tried the <br> instead of the <tr> and <td> but it still created a gap. Granted a smaller gap but a gap nonetheless. I'm using a table because that's how Glam is coded already and I know how to use them(kinda). I need to have everything in the light blue box with the orange border and I dunno how to do that with divs? :)

in your coding you have
table {
cellspacing: 20px;
cellpadding: 20px;

width: 1002px;
border-width: 1px;
border-spacing: 1px;
border-style: solid;
border-color: rgb(241, 184, 85);
border-collapse: collapse;
background-color: rgb(189, 194, 204);

}
try making that 0?

Allright I tried that and I also made a div, yay me\o/ but it still gave me the gap

Code: Select all

div.rooms {background-color:#b0c4de;
border-style:solid;
border-width:1px;
border-color:red;}

Code: Select all

<div class="rooms"><img src="balcony/one/t1f8r1.png"><img src="balcony/one/t1f8r2.png"><img src="balcony/one/t1f8r3.png"><img src="balcony/one/t1f8r4.png"><img src="balcony/one/t1f8r5.png"><br><img src="balcony/one/t1f7r1.png"><img src="balcony/one/t1f7r2.png"><img src="balcony/one/t1f7r3.png"><img src="balcony/one/t1f7r4.png"><img src="balcony/one/t1f7r5.png"></div>
