Post by Zili » Tue Dec 13, 2011 1:54 am

I'm sick of freewebs premade layout not cooperating with me so I can't update my webshop (Zili's Emporium where i sell jewelry and things) I can't get my latest stock up there properly so I'm looking at moving to a webhost that will allow me to code in html I know nothing of CSS and I have basic html coding so I'd love to go back to html do you know of any sites that allow html coding?

Freewebs does allow you to use html, you just have to click the button for it and you can never go back....I'll let someone else swoop in say where said button is since I have no idea 8D

CSS is more or less an accompaniment to html. You can't make webpages with just CSS.

I do have to say that learning a bit of CSS will take a lot of work off your hands from repeating yourself in your HTML code. A cascading style sheet is there to do the pretty to your content. It will really help if you use an external css, because you can set definitions to parts of your pages easily.

Let me try to explain just a little.

If you want to have different font types or colours for certain parts of your site, you'd have to hard code that in html, every time you want to switch over.

With CSS you can create two different classes for say the <p> tag and instead of having to code all your font characteristics, you can just use that one class-tag. <p class="redtext"> and <p class="blacktext"> Now I know that youn can just as easily write the whole font tag everytime, but the more elaborate you make the settings for each class, the less time you spent on coding this.

Did that make sense?
