SSI stuffs

Post by Gloria Evenstar » Fri Apr 27, 2012 8:27 am

So I am trying to make a website for my mom, and decided to use one of Silindor's templates here. However, those templates involve something called SSI (Server Side Includes). Now my problem is that freewebs no longer seems to support SSI, as the template (from 4 years ago) claims.

So does anyone happen to know a free web host who supports SSI and uploading via FTP? (It's kinda a long shot, but I thought I'd ask before moving on to other options.)

Is that the same thing as php includes? That's what I use on my websites, and it all works fine on Zymic.

Ah, just looked through the website and it's apparently a slightly different thing, but you get the same effect. Here's a site that explains that, it's pretty similar to how it works in that layout, but you save as .php instead of .shtml and put a different line of code in to say 'stick this bit in here'. Ahem.
