Skirt help

Postby Blizarean » Mon Oct 11, 2010 4:23 am

Okay, if none of you could tell, I'm awful at dolling skirts. Dx

I already tried a couple times, and the results were less than desirable.
Do you think the lines for it look good, or should I just redo them?

Any links to tutorials would be helpful as well. :]

The outlines look good at the moment, but I'd rethink the guidelines you've put in for folds. Start by thinking about what type of skirt it is. It kind of looks like a pleated skirt to me? If so, pretty much all the folds will go all the way from the waist to the hem, and the shading for that is pretty simple. If it's just a regular foldy skirt, the shading will be a bit more random, but you'll still get a lot of folds that go all the way up the skirt.
here and here are some references that might help :)

More folds would probably look better, but it's pretty good as it is. You could have the folds widening a little bit towards the bottom, like in the picture as well.
