I may have to look into this.

Kind of related but not really. I've recently restarted romance novels and I like to amuse myself collecting terrible main character names. Xcor is so far my favorite. It reminds me strongly of guardians of the galaxy 2, Taser-face. ahaha great

The series? Cause hell yes you should <3

Also lmao Taser-face. HE TRIED HIS BEST, ROCKET. Xcor is definitely pretty edgy, I commend them for using something other than Fabio or something

;_; I didn't finish base race cause I was busy all weekend with Mother's Day stuff and a migraine. I was so determined. *weeping*

Also, anyone read any Brandon Sanderson?

Sad I missed the base race!

Post by Lollie-Anne » Sun May 28, 2017 7:49 pm

I've just gone through and voted in a bunch of them and I'm super sad I missed out on the chance this year! I joined again just a few days before it ended unfortunately! I started something on the last base for the theme sundress but I sadly didn't finish it in time, it's such a shame. It's such a great way to challenge our abilities and get inspired! Looking forward to the next one, it's just such a shame it's so far away :(

I also missed the base race and was bummed about it. :c I just started getting back into posting onto GLAM and so by the time I realized about the race, I had a million other things including school to deal with and not that much time on the race itself. Poor us. ;3;

Hey I merged your topic with Chitter Chatter, hope that's alright ;) don't worry too much about the base race, I know myself and at least one other member of the staff really love them so hopefully we'll have one again decently soon! I know how you feel about being super busy though, I didn't finish the base race because of RL stuff :( blegh.

Yeah, imo tooling is very difficult for dolling because dolls are kind of too small for anything anti-aliased to look precise (at least, without a lot of finagling). If I tried to doll the same way that I paint, it wouldn't quite work. I admire those who are able to move between the two effortlessly.

I haven't seen it yet! I haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy 2 yet, either, though I'd really like to. Is it good? I heard DC movies aren't usually all that great, so I've been holding off.

oh no no, the dceu movies are awesome!!! batman v superman is literally my favorite movie ever it's a god damn masterpiece and man of steel is also really really good!!!! and i also loved suicide squad, everyone hated that one for some reason (no idea why tho??) but it was good!! the characters were really great, and the movie felt way more "comic book-y" than all the other "comic book movies" i've seen

gotg 2 i haven't seen tho, so i can't tell you anything about that one. c: (i am, as you're maybe able to tell, more of a dc person, don't really watch them marvels)

Wonder Woman was amazing!! I seriously loved it, although I haven't been a fan of most other DC movies.

GOTG 2 was great! My boyfriend said it felt like they were kinda milking the jokes but I didn't feel like that. I thought it was a really fun movie.

Hi, Captain! I'm doing well, and dolling up a storm. :D Sorry to hear about being busy with work, Lo. :( It's been super hot here, too, so I've been staying inside on the computer a lot. There's no AC, but the less I move the less heat I generate.

Good to hear you're doing good aside from the heat. That's the only thing I really hate about summer, especially here in the desert. It's always 100+ and you're basically screwed without an AC. I had to stop walking home because of it, haha.

This is also my bi-anual check-in, I guess lol.

Yeah... what I imagine to be hot you're probably scoffing at. I live in Maine, so yesterday it was 82º with 96% humidity. That's fine if you're staying still for the most part, but I work a physical job with no AC. Of course, I bet you'd much rather have that.

What kind of temps do you have at night?

Uh, usually in the 90's. Doesn't get much lower than that unless you live towards the mountains lol. I actually walked home that 3 miles today and I'm basically a zombie now.

Oh, wow! That must have been very rough. Okay, I'm going to ask a super dumb question. Please forgive me. With it being that hot, do kids play outside?

Haha. Not a dumb question cuz I've been wondering that myself. A month ago before it got really hot they were, but not so much anymore.

That makes sense. If a heat wave hit when I was a kid, mom didn't really let me outside either (not that inside was any cooler >.>). Do you walk home by choice, or are you having car troubles?

A bit of both. I don't have a car/can't drive and I also really like the feeling of walking a long distance while listening to music. And it's also nice to occassionally stop and get something to eat cuz I have Panda Express and In N Out down the street from where I live.

I totally understand. When I lived closer to town, I absolutely loved walking. It just makes you feel so free, since you aren't bound by roads. Now though, it's 12 miles to work on roads with no shoulder so it's unfeasible. :p What's In N Out?

In N Out is a burger chain on the West Coast. It was founded in California.
