omg my first baseless doll - MDI 2015

Postby Juchankqueen » Mon Jun 08, 2015 10:22 pm

OK so I am doing the Miss doll International this year (my first year) and I thought about going baseless. I just need some cc on if the pose is alright or not so far. Thank you all in advance.
I still need to clean it up (alot)

The pose looks good to me. When you do the clean lines there might be areas that need work but the basic structure is there.

Make sure that when you make the clean lines to test it against the size requirements, she's not standing straight up so you'll want to give yourself a little bit of extra space in case you do a straight pose in later rounds. Also, consider that you may want to do headgear in later rounds, so plan accordingly.

If I resize it smaller would that take a way some of the integrity of the line art - before I outline it?

Some, but probably not much. It's much easier to resize before you smooth line it

I agree with Phoe. It's handy, when going baseless for a pageant, to check your size vs. a base that is frequently used for pageants, imo. Something like Asoya by Parker ( http://www.deviantart.com/art/Asoya-Base-275434719 ) can be nice to have on your file just to compare the sizes.

Also, the pose looks good, but be careful with the shape of her dress. It's floating towards the hem in a sort of odd way, making it appear almost bell shaped.
I need a new signature...
