I'm in need of some quick CC, you guys. On the whole thing, really, but I can especially use some feedback on the fullbody, because this is like my third fish. It's based on these dudes.

Well, and the portrait too, actually. Does she look professional enough? I'm worried that she reads more schoolgirl.

ETA: Added a blazer. Unsure of the color, though. I didn't want it to be too matchy-matchy.

I like the blazer better. I think you should make it purple, that will go well with the seafoam dress.

Aw man, I was gonna say I like it better without the blazer. I almost feel like the blazer looks TOO professional for business casual.

Personally, I agree with Debb and I don't think a blazer is too professional at all. Blazers are often used in business casual wear. I can't say much as a judge in MDI but I can say that much ;)

I really like it! Love the font you chose for her name <3 One note of C/C on the back shoe, I would elongate the "toe" portion of the shoe a bit. It looks like the shoe is a little too short in the front so there's no room for toes. And maybe bring the back end of the shoe out (just the edge of it where it meets the foot) so you can see where shoe ends & foot begins. :) That's pretty minor, though, I love your entry! Such lovely, subtle palettes. Love the purple blazer especially. :)

@ Artzgrrl: Thanks! I had already turned her in because my internet was being stupid and I figured I'd better turn her in or else, but I totally fixed her shoe on the other fullbody I didn't get to use =)

This is what I have for Round Two so far. I was going for Lisa Frank, which totally shows my age. I think she may need a little more, not sure what though. I didn't want to do sunnies since I did that last year and I'm wondering if shoes would look stupid. Halp!

Maybe a wrap/sarong? I wouldn't do a hat since her hands are in her hair... Maybe an ankle bracelet? You should give her some bright pink toenail polish!

Flip flops or swim shoes would be ok, but heels might be weird.

Whether you end up adding shoes or not, I would edit the feet and possibly her legs. One of the things I don't like about this base is the lack of muscle definition. Even if she's not a fitness professional, we would still notice the different shapes in her legs.

I tried looking for images that could help, and then I remembered this word: contrapposto, and the first example I got from Google was this:

Image

Obviously, you don't have to copy his legs exactly, but I think this is a pretty accurate pose, at least for the legs. Maybe study this sculpture and look for figure drawing resources with female models you can use to shape her legs a bit. Right now, the base looks like it's floating instead of balancing her weight.

Thanks so much you guys! <3

I return, again.

So this is what I have so far for the "evening gown" portion of Round 3. My question is, would you all think this qualifies as an evening gown as is? Or does everything need to be longer? I want it to be a high-low gown because orange shoes.

(Ignore the shading/everything else at the moment, it's a mess)

I would ask on the cbox. I've seen some red carpet dresses like this that I would consider ballgowns, but it depends on how long it is or what the judges think. Very dramatic black underskirt, if that's actually what you're doing. (I think you should)

it looks like a ballgown imo :) i really love the design. the belt has a really awesome design and gives it an added flare, too.

Thanks you guys!

I didn't even think to ask on the tagboard duh self. I am indeed keeping the underskirt black! I accidentally used black instead of white to flood fill, but then I was like yassss.

Image

I also have this version that I think I like a wee bit better.

adding the underskirt solidifies it as a very formal dress! it adds some really nice volume too, imo :)
