Peacocks and Statues

There's a reason I don't often enter contests and pageants anymore(not that I ever did it much anyway). Many reasons, actually. Mostly I just always miss the deadline. But also most pageants/contests have size and background limitations--and no matter what I do, I always seem to mess them up. Even when I really focus on getting the right size, I miss it because I decided to make the hair a little bigger or the dress' train a little longer--or add a border of vines. -points up- So now there's two versions of this--the one that's like 100px over the limit and the one that's...still like 30px.

Oops.
And then. Well. It just looked better with the...background thingy.
uh

Well. I guess I'll just submit it and hope for the best. If I get disqualified then oh well.
Ah this is for the "Random Favourites Artistic Vision" contest. My randoms were:
Nose Tutorial, Unrestricted Moss and Stone Textures, "Peacock", and Depth Attack Pose Reference.

I actually used the texture pack on the statue, just a teensy bit. It seemed necessary.

On another note, I was trying out a new style here, something a bit softer and lower and detail. Closer to my usual digital painting style I suppose. It feels even less like a doll, so I'm not too sure about it, but I might try it again anyway. It's rather fun.

This is absolutely phenomenal! So gorgeous! I can't get over the level of detail you put into the background, backgrounds can be really daunting. I really like the turquoise tones in the fairy's hair, and the bright green in her wings, it's such a soothing palette, I love it. I also like the moss and grass on the statue's (I'm assuming that's a statue?) head and face. It looks so soft! I swear it almost looks like a painting. :D

Ahh, Chicken, this is beautiful. The style is so pretty and soft and the colours are nevertheless so vivid and I just love the entire idea of it. Also, that is a wonderful nose.
