What I Learned From...

Post by Gwen » Fri Dec 03, 2010 8:16 pm

I kinda/sorta stole this from dA.
But this is how it works, you start with a post that says "What I Learned From ____" and fill in the blank obviously. There can be multiples of the same game/website whatever just don't repeat another post exactly. For example, I'll start ;P

What I Learned from World of Warcraft:
1. Never talk crap about your parents on guild chat when they are in the next room playing on the same exact server... and guild that you are, and happen to be online.
2. \o/ (also used here by Marly and several other people)
3. Apparently, only shadow priests can talk dirty. All else are shunned ;P
4. The Horde owns. Sorry. XD
5. If your character has the word "Lex" in it, prepare to be nicknamed Lex Luther ;P (my character's name was Vilexcia, she was called either "Vile" or "Lex Luther". She was also an undead fire/arcane mage 4 years ago XD)

And so on. You can list as many things as you want, but try not to be /too/ offensive

What I Learned From Cooking French Fries on the Stove
1. Don't set the stove on high.
2. Don't too stand close to the pot.
3. Check back on it frequently so it doesn't burn.
4. Don't be silly Bella (me) and put some in there even though you turned the stove off and moved it to another burner because it is still hot even if you wait.

(LOL)
What I Learned from the FML Forums:
1. It's bad to laugh at other people, it seems to come back and bite me in the ass. :\
2. I've had at least 3 things on there happen to me.
3. I find myself referring to it at least once a day.
4. I wanted to write the FML today of, "Today, the local Jack in the Box near my house stopped selling fish and chips. FML." And that's pathetic XD
5. I don't even know why I'm telling you this [X

What I Learned From Glam Casino Section
1. Don't post in 5 other topics at the same time. Rami will come out of nowhere are keep you on until 2 AM.
2. So will this one italian mafia movie, but not as much as this would.
3. Be creative. Boring people never win.
4. Don't be hating. If you be hating Team Chicken will come outta nowhere and drop you in the dumpsta son. Ya'll don't know me! Ya'll don't know who I be! (srry channeling inner black girl).
5. Always refer to a body part if you're clueless on what's happening. It gets you far.
6. Refer to signatures if you don't have anything creative. It works.

3. You can do anything if you have the will.
4. You always suck in the beginning.

1. Some people are very, very creepy
2. You meet some of the funniest people, especially on Glam! ;]
3. Sometimes the internet likes to eat pictures I've posted.
4. 95% of things on the internet are false, yet none the less hilarious.

I wondered that too!!! XD lol
What I Learned from Writing a Book:
1. Apparently people really don't like reading books with gay references in it (lol or at least some of the people I knew didn't XD)
2. It takes forever to brainstorm everything, and even longer to write it out (it's been three years now since I started the book and still never finished).
3. Fantasy is a huuuuuge genre.
4. A lot of people who like this said section tend to be lurkers that follow you around the bookstore. Kind of creepy.
5. I think I really don't know how to count XD I accidentally put 6 instead of 5!

What I learned from cooking

1. Eggs are 4 times more likely to break when you don't want them to.
2. Just because someone with experience tells you something doesn't mean it'll actually work.
2.5 Also, if that person with experience frequently lights things on fire by accident, baby theirs isn't the advice you need. Unless you're an aspiring cave man.
3. Oil and water really do mix.
4. Your cookbook is retarded and should only be deferred to as a light reference guide.
4.5 Always read instructions all the way through ahead of time. Sometimes they'll tell you to do something before something else that they've already had you do.
5. Your first try is always better than your second and worse than your third.
6. Practice doesn't always make perfect. Sometimes it just makes you take out the smoke alarm and move on to a different recipe.
7. The worse it looks, the better it tastes.
8. Most ingredients have about eight names or can be easily replaced by something cheaper or more delicious. Sometimes both.
9. If it says to chill it first, you probably should.
10. Pies are better cold.

What I learned from Glam!(about myself)
1. I am useless as any sort of moderating person and should always be treated as a slave.
2. I can give very long, indepth critiques.
3. If those critiques are ignored, I will never give that person a critique again. (I am spiteful.)
4. I gush. A lot.
5. I'm depressingly easy to ignore.
6. I freaking love dolling.

What I Learned From Wookieepedia Today
1. You know the wolf dude in the catina that got edited out by the Special Edition, and the fang snake puppet thing? They're deeply in love.
2. I'm not really missing anything by not paying attention to the Clone Wars series or even anything related to that era out of my deep, loathing spite for the prequels.

That is all.

What I Learned From Movies

1 You can always judge someone by their theme music.
2 If someone is important, they'll stand out more than some chick in a yellow dress with a five foot hat and fifteen inch heels.
3 A person is less likely to die if dying doesn't fit their image. (Jason Stratham never dies. Ever.)
4 Just because they made you wear 3D glasses doesn't mean it's all actually in 3D. Maybe a fourth of it is. AKA people suck and are cheap.
5 Awkward funny is more awkward than funny. Like peeing yourself.
6 People will be entertained by anything other people tell them is entertaining.
7 No matte how good the movie is, if it's a remake of any kind(even if it's technically a sequel like Terminator: Salvation) or a book-into-a-movie thing, the fandom will hate it. Except the Twilight saga pretty much. Weirdly. And I assure you, not because the movies were good. I digress.

What I've learned from Twilight
1 Fans are terrifying.
2 Sexism is hilarious.
3 Vampires Suck. (lol)
4 I really can watch what I say; rabid fangirls have proven this.

2. Cars will never hurt anything they run into. Ever.
3. You never have to buy clothes.
4. Even if you didn't teach a toddler to talk, walk, or use the bathroom, they will automatically know how to when they become children.
5. When you die, you'll definitely come back and haunt your remaining family for eternity.
6. EA sucks.

What I learned from shaving my legs:
1. Nicks and cuts don't hurt that bad, but sting like a bitch!
2. You CAN get away with it in the winter time.
3. When you're 6 months pregnant, it's near impossible.
4. Becoming one with Chewbacca is NOT ok to your boyfriend.
5. Dogs love to lick your freshly shaved and lotioned legs.
6. I wish I were French.
7. Knee caps suck.
8. Even when you have short legs, it seems like one line takes a mile.
9. I hate it.
10. Some positions WILL turn your boyfriend on.

What I've learned from shaving my legs:
1. If you aren't paying attention and your ankle is slightly bent, be prepared to lose a lot of skin.
2. Eventually the hair stops growing.
3. Long pants are a lazy girl's best friend.
4. Razors are never sharp enough except when they're after your flesh and blood.
5. Razor blade cuts bleed more than any other wound ever.
6. No no, go ahead. I didn't need that flesh anyway.
7. I could find like nine more way to say "when I shave I cut myself and it hurts and bleeds dramatically" in the next three minutes without even trying.
8. I could never make it as a self-harming person.

What I learned from procrastinating:
1. No matter how much you beg the clock to slow down, it doesn't work.
2. The closer to the deadline you are, the faster time moves.

What I learned from Facebook
1. EVERYONE wants to add you, even the popular kids that you never have even spoke to.
2. Always say no to FB run events but they never are planned out well
3. Say yes to the stupid/random events like zombie hunts.
4. Check FB and see that one of your friends thats mad at you is on, RUN LIKE HELL
5. Only post quick doodles and crap, because FB kills the quality anyways.
6. Its pretty much the same thing as MySpace and I can assure you that once a different new popular networking site comes around EVERYONE will leave FB and go to the new site.

What Ive Learned from Running a GLAM shop
1) should not be attempted if a person procrastinates religiously
2) if you DO end up being dumb enough to open a shop, limit how many orders you take
3) and if your stupid enough not to do so, then beware of Order Avalanches
4) when your procrastination gets the best of you(refer to #1.) and you egnore your shop for 5+ months STOP TAKING ORDERS
5) Its best to finish the orders asap and give them to the shoppers free of charge with a sincere apology than to egnore the thread completely pretending it doesnt exsist.

....yes this is me saying Im finally finishing my damn shop orders DX...
