Celeb Fashion Yay Or Nay

For all the fun and games!

Celeb Fashion Yay Or Nay

Postby FingerlickinChickin » Tue Feb 17, 2015 9:59 pm

So here's how the game works; one person posts a picture of a celeb (in grammy gear or casual wear, doesn't matter), and the next person comes along and says "yay" or "nay" to the outfit/look then that person posts a new celeb fashion picture, and so on and so on. Don't forget to say why you yay'd or nay'd the look
example:
Person 1:
"Yay or Nay?"
Image"

Person 2:
Pros: the outfit and the hair together is super adorable, and I love the bright colors
Cons: Her shoes are mismatched
But overall I think Yay!
Image

Person 3 does the same thing and so on.

Don't be afraid to nay something
you can do men's/kids fashion as well as hairstyles
keep it relatively clean please (fabric shreds across privates probably aren't ok for younger audiences on here xD)
you can post ugly outfits on purpose
have fun!

Personally I feel like fashion is an essential part of dolling, so who knows, maybe you'll be inspired by these looks in your next doll!
I'll start in the post below

Nay.
Pros: The color is cute, and really cute on her; and shows off her gr8 legs. ;D
Cons: I think the shoes and dress color don't match tbh (I mean why not match them?)
but I think the fabric is kind of clumpy (idk how to explain, but it just looks like it's folded over itself ).

(I know judging other people's looks can be subjective and mean, but I also love it, soo...>>)

Yay.
Pros:Whatever I think about Miley personally (it's not very positive), I do have to admit that this look is pulled together and has personality. Hair is great as always; I actually like the visible roots because it contributes to the "I don't care, I just threw this on"-vibe. My favorite part is how you can just see the tops of her stockings through the sheer skirt. (At least, I think that's what's going on. xD)
Cons:Dangerously close to a nip slip. It doesn't make the look edgier, it just makes the dress look like it doesn't fit.

Yay

Pros: I really like this outfit.. I like the color of it. It really flatters rather then hides Melissa's figure.
Cons: Lol.. the only con I have are the shoes.. I don't like the thick material on the top and wraps around the ankles.

My turn:
I dug way back in the celeb fashion closet for this one.. so please forgive me.

(Haha I know how you mean Pinstripe! Though I didn't mean to make it sound like making fun of people, just looking into the world of fashion *u* I just love hearing everyone's opinions on it)
Nay
Pros: OMG haha!! I love the swan. I'm not even joking lol, I love quirky-ness on the red carpet it was certainly an interesting idea!
Cons: While I do like quirkyness, it has to be able to be pulled off just right, the outfit itself isn't really cohesive, the nude coloring looks weird and out of place, and the froofiness on the chest and hips drag her figure down.

( @ punkiemunkie : omg bjork swan ily right now )

Hm. I think I'm really picky with fashion, but for me this is actually a Nay.
Pros: That owl is super adorable, but I'm from the Pacific Northwest. They're everywhere. I really like the skirt as well, I just don't think it's quite right for her figure or the outfit. Too stiff? The colors are great in the outfit though. They look warm on her.
Cons: The baggy sweater/stiff skirt thing works all the time, but it just doesn't quite look right here. I would love to see some accessorizing too. Those shoes age the outfit, which is good if you're over thirty and want to bring that adult feel to a cute outfit like this, but otherwise they're not very fitting.
Yeah I'm picky.

(@swordid-truth: Omg, I'm so glad you said that the shoes age that outfit. Exactly what I was thinking, but I didn't know how to put it.)

Nay
Pros:
I really like the way the beading continues down over her hands. It adds a lot of interest to the look imo.
Cons: My biggest problem with this look is not the amount of skin she's exposing. I think celebs should definitely dress as provocatively as they want to. My main issue is that she's letting the dress (and her body) do all the work. The makeup is unremarkable. The hair is doing nothing. It just doesn't match. Why would you pair hair that casual with a dress that intricate? I understand she probably didn't want to have too much going on or distract from the dress, but the discord is too much for me. Lazy, lazy. On top of that, the dress is not as interesting as it wants to be.

NAY!!!!!!
Pros: She really pulls this outfit off. The skirt is short enough to show off her killer legs but not so short that it starts look trashy. The purse is super cute and I really like the shoes.
Cons: WoW.... all those polka dots make this outfit really hard to look at. It's almost like she got dressed in the dark and just started grabbing things. I really could see these colors working together if they were a solid color instead of the pattern.

Yay!
Pros: HBC looks great in taffeta ( I think that's taffeta?), her hair looks great with the outfit and the patterns are somewhat cohesive.
Also her sunglasses are clubmasters and I think those are hella B)
Cons: Her shoes don't match :I idk I don't like that. She pulls it off but eh; and the dress makes her look kind of short? I think the dress part under the taffeta is really uneeded tbh. It's cute but I think it makes her look very short vov

Yay!

Pros: Ashlee looks great and comfy in this outfit. This is actually something I would wear. I really like how the orange just pop out against the darkness of the pants.
Cons: I don't like the shoes.. I really don't think they look right with this outfit, she should have worn tennis shoes.

johnny depp is always a yay
However, for me this is a nay?

Pros: I love when anyone wears the too-many-necklaces-for-sensemaking look. I really do, it's a favorite of mine if I want to feel a certain kind of spunky. I think I dig that jacket though. You know, the one he's wearing like a jacket, instead of around his waist. All good colors on him, too.
Cons: That is a sexy manbeast and he feels super buried and hidden under all those clothes. I know that's pretty much his MO, but I still love seeing him in more fitting attire. Eheh. The jacket around the waist, though. And the hat. I've never liked hats like that, maybe I'm biased.

Awrite. How about some thoughts on this little number? Thumbnail'd again.

Nay
Pros: The color suits her nicely, and I think the skirt shape is very flattering on her, as well as the lovely neck-strap top,
Cons: First lemme just say that yes I am a stickler for not showing too much boobage/crotch lol. Frankly the see-through lines look a bit like a cheap shot. Even if the lines had fabric underneath, I feel like the lines on the upper bodice are kind of random and don't flow well with the lines on her hips :S

I really have no idea what to think of this one o-o

weh too slow
Spoiler: show
YAY YAY AND MORE YAY

pros: the color looks great on her, and I love the patterns. They do great especially at the bottom where it goes into a mermaid tail kind of dress.

Cons: nah bruh too perfect I love it.

idk how to feel about this one?
I'd say yay, but idk how to feel.

Pro: the shirt is cute, although I think it looks a little weird w/o straps. The pants are cute and simple.

Cons: the shoes D: and this seriously needs a jacket or something. It seems too casual. And the fabric thing trailing her is weird like wtf? It doesn't really do anything.

Gonna give this one a NAY.
Pros: I like that she went for a more interesting shape than just a standard gown. The structured shoulders are nice. The hair is fun. White looks great with her skin tone.
Cons: The first thing that jumped out at me was that she was wearing white eyeshadow with a white dress, which I think looks weird. The feathers down the front just remind me of a big Santa beard. Or some kind of animal with a fluffy chest. Overall, the look is unusual, but not in a way that's saying anything. It's neither glamorous or edgy, imo.

Yay!
Pros: the top of the shirt is simple, and goes well with the bottom part which is more "busy".
Cons: I think the cuffs for the sleeves shouldn't be there tbh, they look like they're attached to the dress and it just looks kind of funky, although it might be the angle.

Totally a Yay!
Pros : I love a good interpretation of lace, and I actually do love the 'see-through' or nude look in a dress as well. That collar makes her neck look lovely and long and the lighter use of the floral down her arm is elegant af. She looks graceful and elegant and tall and ageless, and what seasoned icon doesn't want that?
Cons : I grew up knowing that the gospel of good booty existed as J.Lo, as did the rest of my generation I think. XD This dress, unfortunately, is a little unflattering in the hip area and the shadows thrown around the lady bits are unfortunate as well. I imagine this might have been intended for a woman who just a little less shapely below the waistline? I don't love the exposed arm, either. I think it makes her shoulder look a little strange, and she's got a bit of armpit boob that is totally circumvented by the nude fabric covering that on the other side.
But, I still love this look.

Wondering how y'all feel about this look, once we aren't looking at the photos of her and Travolta this year. ; D

Yay!

Pros: The color looks good on her, and the necklace, while I don't like the necklace itself, looks awesome. Her hair is styled in a way that looks good with the dress. Simple makeup and I love her little earrings!
Cons: The seams of the dress are REALLY visible on this fabric. I don't really like seeing more than one. Like that's why they're where your arms are. And their right over her boobs, which is literally the worst place to put them. I also don't like this necklace with this dress, but I think it's more because it's crooked and just really busy for the simplicity of the entire rest of the outfit. Like a smaller choker would've been better.
