Hello Everyone!
Names Vivi, I used to doll way back when circa 2002??? and stopped for no good reason around 2009ish? honestly I cant even remember. So, now I have been feeling kind of nostalgic, I used to love those times when I was pretty actively dolling, had a website etc. would like to get back to it...but now I feel so lost. What programs do people use nowadays? I remember I used to do pixel art with Microsoft PAINT! but now thats not around and im using a mac now, do you guys know any alternatives? sorry for all the rambling! Looking forward to being part of a community once again :)

Welcome back, vivi! <3 A lot of people have taken long breaks from the community (myself included). Things have mostly moved to deviantart at this point, but there are attempts at bringing back websites!!

As for programs... Oh man, I'm trying to remember what I used when I had a mac.

Okay-
Paintbrush! I never really got used to this one, and it had some weird glitchy issue where when you'd select a color off the canvas, the color you'd then have on your "brush" would be a different color. I haven't used it in years, though, so maybe it's better, now... Could be worth a try, since it is free. As far as I remember, it's very similar to the newer versions of MSP, with opacity options and the like.
Paint S! Formerly Paint 2. If this is the same program, I remember trying this one out and liking it well enough but not enough to buy it. I would pixel on my desktop, so it wasn't worth buying it at the time.
I know GIMP is also popular! Though I don't really understand what their website says about it..?

Otherwise, I'd search on pixeling forums and the like. I hope you find something that works for you! MSP is still my go-to, haha.

Be sure to stick around! I look forward to seeing your new work!
